AFC Challenge Cup 2012,Final Round [Kathmandu, Nepal]

 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has provided Nepal, the hosting rights of  final round AFC Challenge Cup which is scheduled on March 3- 18.
Nepal has got the prestigious opportunity of hosting the Asian event for the first time. Nepal won the bid for AFC Challenge cup against two other bidders including Maldives and Palestine. The winner of this tournament will get the qualification for Asian Cup, the much celebrated football tournament of Asia.

 Previously, Nepal had successfully hosted the group stage matches of the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 and the group stage matches of the 2010 edition.

The teams qualified for the final round of the challenge cup are North Korea, Palestine, Philippines, India, Turkmenistan, Maldives and Tajikistan including the host Nepal.

Nepal had reached the semifinal of the first edition of AFC in 2006 in Bangladesh, the final round in 2008 in India, but could not qualify for the third edition in 2010.
